Today, SLEAP (SIESTA’s Lived Experience Advisory Panel) ran a hands-on workshop with seven Early Career Researchers from the SIESTA network. The workshop was intentionally limited in size to ensure a focused session and allow the SLEAP panel to provide tailored, in-depth support to each participant.

The session, “How to Demonstrate Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) in Research Proposals and Funding Applications”, gave practical tips on using the Sydney Health Partners CCI Guidelines, how to apply to the SLEAP committee (start by expressing your interest!), and what to expect from the panel.

The goal? Helping researchers move beyond ticking boxes—toward meaningful, impactful involvement of people with lived experience in their research.
